We all see bad drivers pretty much every time you take a trip on the roads, but when it is on the water, being a bad driver makes things 100 times worse. This is Haulover Inlet in Florida. You already know where this is going just by seeing the word Florida. The inlet was cut in 1925 through a narrow point in the sand between the cities of Bal Harbour and Sunny Isles. It is the location of an official nude beach, recreation areas and marina in the 99-acre Haulover Park. If you’re lucky you’ll hit it on one of the very few days during the year when no wind or weather is stirring, and at slack tide. Aboard a big boat you’ll wonder what all the fuss is about. On a small sailboat with an underpowered engine it can be a white knuckle ride. These are some of the BEST (worst?) of those boating adventures.
