In 1974 Led Zeppelin was coming off an interesting tour and album response after the release of their third album, the now infamous Led Zeppelin III.
After experimenting with a more acousticly creative album and incorporating it into their tour, Zeppelin was looking to further push their musical prowess when coming together for the now iconic Led Zeppelin IV. The album would mark a huge rebound for the band as it came with some of the most classic of Zepppelin songs. From the concert anthem of Rock And Roll to one of the greatest songs of all time in Stairway To Heaven, Zeppelin IV marked Zeppelin's ascension to the top of the rock world as they stood in dominance with what was immediately acclaimed as a masterpiece.
The tour was chronicled with the concert film The Song Remains The Same, which shows Zeppelin at the height of their musical powers, featuring each member in montages created to mirror their personalities, and featuring most of the music off Zepp IV before a sold out Madison Garden crowd in New York.
Zeppelin IV is the accumulation of the band's musical experience with each other from the on the fly formation which lead to their first album to the well oiled machine they became by then. At a time where many of the legendary bands of England shined above all others, Zeppelin stood highest of them all.
