Happy Gilmore 2, the sequel to Adam Sandler's iconic 1996 golf-inspired comedy film, is reportedly set to be released on July 25, according to Deadline.
The film, which will be released on Netflix, had previously been reported to debut in 2025, but a specific date was not confirmed. Sandler has long had a partnership with Netflix, which includes producing and starring in the exclusive releases of The Ridiculous Six, Murder Mystery and You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah.
Happy Gilmore is among the actor and comedian's most popular films, serving as half of the namesake of his production company, Happy Madison, along with Billy Madison, which was released one year prior in 1995. Gilmore, a failed hockey player, joins the Pro Golf Tour after discovering his incredible driving ability in order to raise funds for his grandmother to avoid eviction.
The titular character is trained by former golf pro Chubbs Peterson, played the late Carl Weathers, who died last year. Actress Julie Bowen, who played Gilmore's love interest Virginia Venit, and Christopher McDonald, who played antagonist golf rival Shooter McGavin, have both been confirmed to reprise their roles in a star-studded cast that also includes Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, latin hip-hop superstar Bad Bunny, actress Margaret Qualley and All Elite Wrestling star Maxwell Jacob Friedman.
PGA stars Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Colin Morikawa, Justin Thomas and Will Zalatoris, as well as LIV Golf stars Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka, are also confirmed to appear in the film.
