Judas Priest is going to make the most of its forthcoming Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction by getting in another U.S. leg of the '50 Heavy Metal Years' tour, leading up to the festivities.

The legendary British heavy metal band will be supported by Queensryche on the tour, which launches October 13 in Wallingford, Connecticut, and wraps up November 29 in Houston, Texas.

Judas Priest is currently on tour in Europe through August, with a new studio album — its 19th overall — nearing completion.

The band will receive the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's Musical Excellence Award at the 2022 induction ceremony on November 5 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

While Judas Priest's touring lineup has gone through some changes in the last decade, the band has expressed hope that longtime guitarists Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing will reunite with the continuing core of Ian Hill, Rob Halford and Scott Travis for the ceremony.
