This “United States Road Rally Challenge” is a weekend-long event sanctioned by the Sports Car Club of America that starts Friday with teams of a driver and navigator travelling from the Anchorage Hillside to Girdwood, the Hope Highway, and to a lodge in Seward. Saturday will see the teams traveling to Homer, with the event ending on Sunday in Kasilof. Teams use road rules to get to checkpoints to earn points. (Road Rally is not a road race; speeds are at or below posted speeds and teams are disqualified for the day should they receive a moving violation.) Teams are from Florida, Tennessee, Virginia, Michigan, California, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Alaska - including Wasilla, Kenai, Anchorage, Kasilof and Fairbanks. No prior experience in the sport is needed. msreg.Com/USRRC2017.
