Tool has capped off a historic year with a win at the 62nd annual Grammys.

The legendary progressive metal band took home the 'Best Metal Performance' award for the song "7emptest" from the Fear Inoculum album, released last August.

Fear Inoculum, which arrived 13 years after its predecessor, remains a testament to Tool's vitality, as the band enters its third decade.

"7emptest," the final song on Fear Inoculum, turned heads as soon as it was revealed. The second longest album track in the band's history itself peaked at No. 6 on Billboard's Hot Rock Songs chart this summer.

The song showcases Tool's avant garde compositional style at its finest, building over several minutes and paying off with a seven-and-a-half-minute guitar solo.

Tool made an impression in early August when all of its studio albums became available on streaming services. Excitement over the band was at an all-time high and at one time every Tool album was in the Top 20 on the album charts and the band had a song in each of the Top 10 on the rock charts.

The title track from "Fear Inoculum" became the longest song to ever chart, and the album hit No. 1 a week after its release.

Tool is on tour now in North America. For tour dates, tickets and more information, go here.
