Cape Cod Sees Its First Shark Attack In Six Years

A 61-year-old man is recovering today after being attacked by a shark while swimming off Cape Cod. The last shark attack at the popular summer tourist destination came in 2012.  The victim had puncture wounds to his leg and torso and was taken to the hospital by helicopter.  The town confirmed the shark bite and closed Long Nook Beach to swimming.  It did not say when it would reopen.  The man was about 30 yards offshore and about 300 yards south of Long Nook Beach when he was bit.
